How To Join Amotekun Security, Requirements And Salary
The Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) code name Operation Amotekun was founded in January 2020. It was formed by the six southwestern Nigeria States to curb crime in the region. It will complement the security agencies in tackling crime in the region.
How To Apply for Amotekun Security?
Those who are from any of the six geopolitical zones will find it easier to join the outfit.
The application form for recruitment has already commenced in some states. The form itself is free and attract no charge.
Requirements For Joining Amotekun
- A minimum of Primary School Certificate
- Male or female indigenes between the age of 18 – 70.
Those eligible to join the security outfit should be male or female indigenes between the age of 18 – 70 with a minimum qualification of a primary school certificate.
Amotekun personals will be ranked based on academic qualifications it seems, so your level will be based on the certificate you present.
These are basically what is required to be eligible to join the Western Nigeria Security Operation Amotekun. If you meet these requirements, you can collect the form which can be obtained from the corps commandant in any of the six western states.
Assuming you meet the eligibility requirement and manage to obtain the form, you will be asked to provide other details as well. including
- A Birth certificate
- letter of recommendation
- Grantors Form
- local government certificate etc.
After applying, the best candidates will be selected for screening and training
How Much is The Salary For An Amotekun Operative
The initial monthly salary proposed by the south-West governors for personal of Amotekun was N13,500. This amount was rejected by various groups and other local security outfits. They have asked the governors to consider a monthly pay of N50,000 for a start for successful candidates for the Job.
Right now, the south west governors have agreed to review the N13,500 salary. Hopefully, a new salary amount that everyone agrees on will be reached and announced to the public.
Operation Amotekun Uniform
The uniform of the Amotekun security is more like a traditional Yoruba hunters outfit, with patterns similar to that you will find on a cheetah or leopard.
